2017 DAHK Carnival party was held as the opening ceremony of the year 2017 at Tseung Kwan O waterfront.

March

International Breast Cancer Paddlers Commission (IBCPC)) accepted DAHK as a member.

June 2

DAHK paddlers came third in the 200m race of Small Boat Hong Kong Cancer Survivors in the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races.

June 2

A BCS Race Gala Dinner was held in Tsuen Wan for the breast cancer survivors from Australia and New Zealand. Around 100 participants enjoyed the dinner.

June 4

In the Fancy Dress Competition during the Dragon Boat Carnival was held along the harbour front in Central, the DAHK team and their family members won the top prize. The colourful costumes represent 7 values: vitality, hope, perseverance, friendship, health, unity and happiness.

July 9

DAHK paddlers won one gold medal and one silver medal In the Tsueng Kwan O Races.

July 25

A workshop was held in the Wong Tai Sin CancerLink Support Centre of Hong Kong Cancer Fund to recruit new members in joining our team. Two free sessions of paddling training were provided for the new members.

September 28

An interview was held in the radio programme of RTHK—Smarter a bit (精靈一點) in which our team is composed of Dr. KWONG (DAHK medical advisor), Ms. Grace HO (DAHK president) and Mr. Horace WONG (DAHK treasurer).

October 2-3

The DAHK won two bronze medals of 200m and 500m races in the 2017 Taiwan Keelung International Dragon Boat Festival.

October 11

A workshop was held in the Kwai Chung CancerLink Support Centre of Hong Kong Cancer Fund to recruit new members in joining our team. Two free sessions of paddling training were provided for the new members.

October 22

A sharing session with breast cancer survivors from Jiangmen city of Mainland China.

October 29

The Sedan Chair Race for the fundraising in supporting lesser known charitable organizations–
In the Fun/Judged Awards: DAHK won the 2nd Runner-up of the Best Dressed Team in the Mr. and Mrs. Galbraith’s Award and the Winner of the Best Decorated Chair in The Bank of East Asia Trophy.

Kwun Tong Small Dragon Boat Race.

Our member Tony HO was elected as one of the Top Ten Regeneration Warriors Competition by the Hang Seng-Regeneration Society. The competition gives members of the public a chance to learn from the experiences of Warriors who are successfully dealing with serious chronic illnesses by maintaining a positive approach and the “can-do” attitude in their everyday lives.

December 9

11th Anniversary Annual Dinner of DAHK was held in Hong Kong Old Restaurant, TsimShaTsui. The medical advisor Dr. Ava Kwong and Head Coach Mr. Sek participated in the party. There were around 60 participants.
